Gene CottonWelcome to another week of Uncle Bing’s Favorite Tunes. Well, as I expected, Gene Cotton did rocket to number one this week with “You’ve Got Me Runnin.” Cotton is a pop-folk singer that had four Top 40 songs in the 70′s, including a duet with Kim Carnes. But, he retired to Tennessee in the early 80′s to dabble in politics and music programs for underprivileged children.

Elsewhere on the chart, last week’s number one song by Exile holds steady after being pushed down to number two and the only other big mover within the Top Ten is “Diplomat’s Son.” Last week’s highest debut song, “Back in Love Again,” leaps six spots to number eleven and almost cracks the Top 10. After that, everything else in the Top 25 is pretty stagnant this week.

We have two new debut songs by Prozzak and Toto. We’ll see how well they do in future weeks. I’ve linked a few songs for you on youtube. Have a Happy Week!
