131 – A Tough 500

131 – A Tough 500

22till none - 500 days so far

500. 500 times 22 equals 11,000. Jim Tough actually does 25 per day because he gives a pushup to the Infantry, the Airborne Ranger in the Sky, and all other military. So Jim has actually done 12,500 pushups over the course of 500 days.

I want you all to watch Jim’s Day 500 video here (Like and Subscribe while you are at it!). What really stood out is how Jim articulated the scope of the problem of Veteran’s Suicide. He described what was lost as a result in a way that few people understand.

I believe is Jim’s desire that one day he will not have to do pushups. Wouldn’t that be great? The need to talk about someone killing themselves will no longer be a priority. I want to be there when that day happens. Jim talks about some of his battles with PTSD. This is honest talk where Jim does not hold back on what is needed to step away from the abyss.

I thought about how much effort it takes to provide an insightful message and 22 – 25 pushups over the course of 18 months. Creating any kind of content and sustaining the necessary energy to do so is impressive. What is more impressive in the Day 500 video, Jim doesn’t make it about him doing the pushups.

Usually, it would be good for one of these types of situations and podcasts to talk about a bright future after an amazing accomplishment that someone like Jim did. The future will be bright when Jim doesn’t need to do anymore pushups. However, as long as he is able, Jim will be telling us to stay in our fight and don’t quit.

Episode 122 – Thanksgiving Tough Style

Good story here…..

Jim Tough came on Oscar Mike Radio for Episode 95. ( Oscar Mike Radio Episode 95 – Jim Tough ) Jim has done over 8000 pushups to raise awareness for veteran’s suicide and PTSD.

Go to Jim’s YouTube Channel ( That Push Up Guy Tough ) and check out the 160+ videos he has posted. It isn’t just about the pushups. Jim takes 7-10 minutes to give his thoughts on things that he has experienced and how to “Stay in your Fight”.

I wanted to talk with Jim about finding ways to be grateful. Even when staring into the abyss, I got common theme of hope when I watched the videos. I wanted to find out how to hold onto hope when life’s has one pinned down in a crossfire. I got a lesson Tough Style!

Jim wasn’t done though, as a bonus, I got to talk with Mrs. Tough. Becky has had a tremendous positive effect on Jim’s life, and he can’t say enough good things about her. She does work in wellness and introduced Jim to essential oils ( Seed to Seal Website ). Becky is going to come back on for a full episode talk with me about wellness, essential oils and reducing contact with chemicals. She is telling me I can do this by throwing out my Windex and PineSol and switching to other products. Wow!!! I could not believe it. My Gunny in the Marine Corps certainly would not believe it. I can’t wait to hear more.

This Thanksgiving think of all the things you have going for you. Everyone celebrates Thanksgiving differently, but we can all get a little Tough.

Episode 103 – Burnouts 4 Veterans 2018

Episode 103 – Burnouts 4 Veterans 2018

Episode 103 – Burnouts 4 Veterans 2018

I did a podcast on this last year. Episode 54 was about the 4th Annual Burnouts 4 Veterans at the Brockton VFW Post 1046 – Oscar Mike Radio Episode 54 – Burnouts for Veternans . Well long story short, Albie, Tiny and Victor are back at it again this year for the 5th Annual Burnouts 4 Veterans, and it is going to better than ever.

What is Burnouts 4 Veterans? This is where people in all kinds of vehicles have fun burning rubber to raise money for Veterans’ causes. Last year a couple thousand people show up to watch tires literally burst into fire. All money raised goes to support local Veterans in the Brockton Area.

This year the crew setup shuttle buses for people to help out with parking. It is still $20.00 per car load. If you have van and can fill it full of people it is $20.00. Got a motorcycle, still $20.00, but better than any movie showing right now. There is bocce ball in the back of the VFW, and the DJ kept the crowd’s energy up last year. This was hopping so much that the VFW ran out of beer!!! I am told that problem has been solved, so while I am supposed to tell you to stay hydrated, all I can say is everything in moderation.

Watching cars burning rubber is fun. There wasn’t one problem in the crowd and this is definitely a family event. Just looking at the cars and talking to the drivers, is worth the price of admission. Albie, Tiny and Victor have created something that is fun but helps others. Check it out
