Dean and I getting some Freedom going!

Sometimes the whole key to this is to be ready. Andrew Farrer, who was on Oscar Mike Radio 158, (https://whoobazoo.com/oscarmike/2019/08/02/158-nashville-silkies-hike-with-andrew-farrer/) introduced me to Dean. A few weeks later, Dean was in my part of the country and we worked to make time to talk. I am glad I did.

Dean Wegner played hockey for West Point then went on to be an Army Aviator. He was fortunate enough to be a candidate for Ranger School, and successfully completed his career in the Army as a Ranger.

Dean worked in several different industries, apparel being one of them. He has this idea that clothing could be made in America again. I could not believe it when he told me that 3% of all clothing worn in America is actually made in America.

As I talked with Dean, I couldn’t help but be drawn into this simple idea that jobs could be brought back to America. While I think it is an uphill battle, I wanted to be a part of this journey. When Dean showed me the Freedom T-Shirt and socks, I knew that I wanted only one answer to, “Where is Oscar Mike Radio’s apparel made?”

You can find out more by going to https://www.authenticallyamericanbrand.us/. I want to thank Andrew for introducing us. Dean, I am looking forward to seeing how Authentically American and Oscar Mike Radio grow together.

167 – Danielle Rocco – Devoted to Soldier

I had the pleasure of talking with Danielle Rocco remote and on location. She is a Marine Mom, transformation coach, speaker and now author of, “Devoted to a Soldier.” She talked with me about her work with Veterans Advocacy.

The question has to be what hasn’t Danielle done? Professional ballerina, business owner, author, filmmaker, coach and now Veterans Advocate, Danielle believes anyone can make positive change in their lives at anytime.

Devoted to a Soldier is about develop strong relationships. The strongest being with one’s self. As I listened to Danielle talk about this during our time, I felt that I was on that path. Getting reminded of what I need to do daily was coaching at its best.

You can go to Danielle’s website – https://devotedtoasoldier.com/ to learn more about her documentary and Veteran’s Advocacy work.

163 – Mark, the Reaper – Get REAPERFIED!

Don’t get clean, Get REAPERFIED!

Talking to Veterans who re-invent themselves never gets old. I met Mark a couple years ago, and he told me about his plan to launch Reaper Detailing and Powerwashing.

Fast forward to the present and Mark has literally become a Reaper against dirt in any form. Mark has a detailing and powerwashing business that is completely mobile. He hit me up about getting my motorcycle REAPERFIED. I said yes, and met him to go through the experience.

Now, I thought I could clean a motorcycle. I really did, but what I can do is nothing compared to what Mark did in 84 minutes. He showed me I was a rookie at best. I could use the chrome to shave with no problem. I asked Mark how he got started with detailing. He told me that he liked cleaning, and got a couple of supplies to start. Now, he is looking to grow his business and hopes to make it where Veterans can join him to be successful.

People ask me all the time if there are Veterans who have used what they learned in the service to make something different with their life. Mark, The Reaper, is a perfect example of someone starting small and working to fulfill his goals no matter the challenge or the weather. Don’t get clean, get the Reaper!

Sponsor Announcement

Mark wanted to support Oscar Mike Radio. I, in turn, wanted to support the Reaper and what he is going to for Veterans in 2020. Mark is Oscar Mike Radio’s next official sponsor. I want to thank Mark for this show of support. I can’t wait to see what we do together. Mark is the REAPER, GET REAPERFIED!
