257 – Semper Fi Designs

Alayna is a Marine Corps Veteran and started Semper Fi Designs as a way to raise money for Veterans Service Organizations and people in need. She made a flag for me sporting the HAWK missile and this first, only flag of its kind raised money for a charity she supports, Run to Home Base.

Great story here of connecting with Tom who is another Marine Corps Hawker. Go to Facebook and look up Semper Fi Designs to connect with Alayna.

She is doing great work and I want her to continue to succeed. Go to Facebook and look for Semper Fi Designs. Thank you Alayna for creating this for a great purpose!

193 – Sgt. Slaughter

193 – Sgt. Slaughter

I read this article (https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news…) in the Marine Corps Times by Geoff Ziezuiewicz. It was about Robert Remus who portrayed the professional wrestling character, Sgt Slaughter. The article goes into great detail about the fact that Robert never served in the military despite his claim that he did.

Next to taking advantage of a disabled Veteran, stolen valor is something that angers me. Claiming to have served in the Vietnam War is a slap in the face to all that did serve and the Gold Star Family Members of that war.

I feel that Robert should apologize and not do any appearances on military bases or for any military organization. He can be Sgt Slaughter, but he didn’t serve. I wonder if certain entities let this slide because having him at events was seen as a good look for the military and the WWE. I am going to try and ask him some of these questions. What do you think?

188 – Andrew Farrer – Warrior Reborn

Andrew was a guest on Oscar Mike Radio for #158 . (https://whoobazoo.com/oscarmike/2019/…) He was launching the Nashville, TN Irreverent Warriors Silkies Hike in 2019, and working on rebuilding himself. February 19th, 2020 Andrew graduated from Veterans Court. We talked about how that experience was good for him. He is a new man. Along with doing Veterans Court, Andrew feels Irreverent Warriors will allow him to give back to others who are fighting their personal battles. I was honored to be there for Andrew. Big thanks to Zac Jenkins Marine Veteran Owner of Semper Sliders for letting us use the space to record. I really appreciated getting to meet all of Andrew’s friends who came out to support him. It was a special feeling to meet “Momma Bear”, Cindy McNally who is the president and CEO of Irreverent Warriors. It only took a minute to feel like one of your cubs. Semper Fidelis

179 – Brothers Forever

I talk about meeting David Roberts and Josh Morin at the Volunteers of America Veterans Leadership Dinner on November 14th. David was being honored for his work in raising awareness and funds to support survivors of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club Fallen 7. Joshua was there with David and it was an honor meeting them both. During the dinner, we all agreed that we are going to work together for Josh and other Veterans who need help. No one gets left behind, Brothers Forever.

Thanks to everyone who took time out of the schedule over the last couple of weeks to talk with me to make 7 Days of Oscar Mike Radio happen. I feel a sense of accomplishment, and understand I have a lot of work to do to improve. I love doing this, and Volunteers of America – Massachusetts https://www.voamass.org/get-involved/…
