182 – 1979 – Operation Tabas

Also called Operation Eagle Claw by U.S. Forces, this was Delta Forces first operation that experienced catastrophic failure. Operation Tabas, as it was called by the Persians was an attempt to rescue American hostages taken from the Iran Embassy. I thought it relevant based on the lack of knowledge about our past with Iran. This is a work in progress. I think I will revisit this topic in 2020 because it became clear that 30 minutes would not do this justice.
