Tim Lollis is by day the owner of “Busted Knuckles Automotive” located west of Easley, SC on Highway 123.
At night and on the weekends he is a racer.
Tim got started a little late by most standards in his racing career. He entered the Charger Division in 1995 at  Greenville – Pickens Speedway racing in seven events. In those seven events, he won four races and he was hooked.
The long time promoter at Greenville – Pickens , Mr Tom Blackwell, made the decision that Lollis’ racing career would move on to the Street Stock division as he was promoted for the 1996 season.
This move continued with the same winning fashion as Lollis and his team won six out of the 16 races they entered that year and once again, Blackwell told Lollis, ” You’re too good for that division.”  Blackwell let Lollis know he’d better get a car ready for the “Super Stock” for the ’97 season, if he wanted to continue to race at his race track.
The move proved to be his most successful one yet, as he won 10 more races over the next two years, including the Championship in ’98 at Greenville – Pickens.
In 1999, Tim made the move to the Late Model division and quickly found out how racing luck can turn on you. His rookie year saw two nasty crashes that hurt the car badly and made it hard to rebound when his money resources went to repairing the car instead of going back to the track on a weekly basis.
The races that he was able to run were producing top five finishes.
In 2001 Lollis got hurt while riding a dirt bike, that sidelined him once again.
And once again Lollis found his team back in victory lane at  Anderson Motor Speedway picking up a total of three wins that year. Like so many local racers, the money to compete just became too much to overcome and in 2004, Lollis made the decision to sell his team to Bob Root and began driving for him.
2007 was the year that saw Lollis step back down to the Super Stock division at Greenville – Pickens winning again and wrapping that year up in 2008 with another track Championship.
When Greenville -Pickens began a Truck division in 2009, Bob Root again reached out to Lollis and asked him to drive one of his trucks. Lollis found his way back to Victory Lane 10 times that year and if not for missing a race to attend his son’s graduation, he would have added another Track Championship to his credits.
When I asked him if he looked back on that night and maybe would have gone to the race track that night instead, Lollis didn’t hesitate on his decision.
It doesn’t take long when you sit down and talk to Lollis, you understand this God-fearing man loves his racing, loves his family, lists his racing hero as Dale Earnhardt and loves the Lord.
tim lollis SEST
The No. 50 Super Truck that Lollis races in the Southeast Super Truck series made their first race with the series in the last event held at  Anderson Motor Speedway in 2012. After missing the first race of the 2013 season at the famed Hickory Motor Speedway, Lollis and his Bob Root owned team have been a fixture ever since.
He finished third in the standings in 2013 despite missing one race. He’s had many good runs but still looking for that first win and as the series heads to Tri-County Speedway in Hudson N.C., for the next event on May 17th, Lollis feels that win could come there.
Lollis has finished second on two different events there before and really likes the track. Of course he is quick to note that with out the help of The Bryan Ramey Law Firm, McIntosh Roofing and Osteen Collision Center for their help getting to the track and his crew that includes his son T.J., Jerry McIntosh and Mike Hammond he couldn’t even think of doing what he loves.
Lollis and his whole team represent what the SEST is all about and the series says they are proud to have him and his team be a part of it.
