In Friday action at Circuit of the Americasin Austin Texas, the IMSA series took to the track with the 9th round of the Continental Tire SportsCar Championship.   Billy Johnson dominated the race in the Grand Sport Multimatic Ford Shelby winning from pole position.  The win in Austin put  the championship directly in sight for the Multimatic team.  Johnson celebrated with his ceremonial drift lap around the circuit.

Second position went to Trent Hindman in the #12 Porsche of Bodymotion Racing and third position to the Ford Shelby of Pierre Kleinubing of Compass360 Racing.   The CJ Wilson Racing Porsche ran a strong race, looking like a podium contender, until suspension damage ended their race.

In the Street Tuner class, Eric Foss took victory for the #56 Murillo Racing Porsche Caymen 987.  Second position went to the Hart Honda Civic Si of Cameron Lawrence while Connor Biloum of RS1 took third position in the Porsche Caymen #19.
